Ayodhya has become known for tourism in the world after the construction of Ram temple. Facilities for devotees and tourists have developed a lot. The river front of Saryu river located in the cantonment area of Ayodhya, known as Guptar Ghat, is considered to be the most famous and sacred ghat in Ayodhya.
It was probably renovated during the reign of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula, when Faizabad was the capital of Awadh. According to mythology, Lord Rama took Jal Samadhi on this ghat. Some temples are located on this ghat.
