Amer ibn Muhammad al-Senussi, the former shipowner and one of the dignitaries of the province of Haql, says: In the middle of Jumada al-Thani in 1398 AH, the Greek ship Georges ran aground, which led to its collision with coral reefs on the beach, which is loaded with flour and on its way to the Jordanian port of Aqaba and settled in its place until today despite the attempts of the crew For repair, the accident was reported to the Saudi authorities, and the crew of the sailors headed to the city of Aqaba by land.
Coordination was carried out between the ship owner company and its insured company to estimate the damages, and a group of Greek specialists came to the Kingdom to study the damages and found that the costs are higher than the value of the insurance policy, so they decided to sell the ship and it was announced in the Jordanian newspapers to sell it at its location except for the flour load and progressed with It is provided and purchased in Greece.
On the date of 6/7/1398 AH, we provided a copy of the purchase document for the Emir of the field at the time, Sheikh Ibrahim al-Mazid, to allow the disposal of the ship, and the Northwest Frontier Inspector and the Emir of the Qurayyat region agreed to the request and the cargo was unloaded to its owner by marine means to the Jordanian port of Aqaba.
On 5/9/1398 AH, the vessel was offered for sale, and one of the businessmen came to buy it, and during its operation, a fire broke out inside it, which led to some of them being subjected to severe burns and escaped by throwing the sea
