Great Captions: Make Your Local Guides Posts Shine! ✨

We Local Guides put a lot of work into our stories, but sometimes people just look at the pictures and captions. Good captions are really important! Lots of us forget them or make mistakes. :pensive:

Here’s a super easy trick: Rename your picture before you upload it! The file name becomes the caption. Easy peasy! This works on phones and computers. :tada:

For example check the caption of images in this post as you can see the file name updated below.

Good captions help a lot:

  • More people see your post: They make people want to read and learn more. :star_struck:
  • Better stories: They give important details and make your pictures better. :writing_hand:
  • Everyone can see: Captions help people who can’t see the pictures. :handshake:

So, rename your pictures, share your stories, and make your Local Guides posts awesome! :sparkles:

Thank you @MathanVibranarayan for sharing the information. That means if you rename the file name and after uploading to connect, that file name can be found in the caption?

Nice post, Sir. What you think, if I post special caption option in footer of images. @MathanVibranarayan for example -

good tips and tricks @MathanVibranarayan that I learned about captions and descriptions from @AdamGT Sir in T100 leaderboard and then I discovered that I should make collages of all photos in Connect Photos and then give a description of all the photo collages. It is better to give a description instead of giving captions for each photo.
Thanks

Hi @MathanVibranarayan I see the first picture is coming from my post. I missed to put caption on that picture. However I put captions for the rest of the photos. Thanks for reminding us.

For what @MathanVibranarayan said, we can rename file name and upload it to connect. File name becomes caption and we can give description to each photo below when uploading as a grid. @shaileno

You didn’t understand what i saying @Rahul001

I absolutely understand what you are saying @shaileno . It can be harder when adding caption to photo/photos when adding as a grid or not. We can always write description to photo/photos which is much simple and more informative. As Matham told, we can write caption as file name before even uploading to connect which simplify and reduce time I think.

Sure it is @shaileno . Adding description or caption or putting photos as a grid is always the choice of the Author!:+1:
