GoPro Tips for Beginners?

Hey Local Guides! I recently went to Australia and took with me my very first GoPro. Even though the GoPro only has 2 buttons, I still managed to feel overwhelmed and didn’t know how to use it to get the best pics or how to to make it stop when taking videos. If you have GoPro tips for me please share away!

Hi @JMD9 ! I’m glad you think that was a nice click! You would probably say something different if you saw my videos under water lol Not sure how to upload them here.

Hi @BeatrizfhSF , much better using it connected by wifi to your mobile device. There you have many options.

Hi @TheEagleEye , I tried it but it was confusing to manage 2 devices at the same time. I’ll try it again and hope for the best! How about for videos under water? Hard to bring both the phone and the GoPro under.

@BeatrizfhSF you’ll get the hang of it after some use. I haven’t used mine under water so can’t comment on that. Good luck and look forward to seeing your future shots.

Hi @BeatrizfhSF

I’m not sure which version of GoPro you have but perhaps you could look for and activate Voice Control (in your language) under your GoPro preferences. Then you can use phrases like GoPro start recording and GoPro stop recording (see others that I have listed below) which makes it a lot easier than trying to fuss over an use awkward buttons! Wake on Voice is another good setting

  • GoPro Turn On
  • GoPro Turn Off
  • GoPro HiLight
  • GoPro Take a Photo.
  • GoPro Shoot Burst.
  • GoPro Start Time Lapse.
  • GoPro Stop Time Lapse.
  • GoPro ??? Mode (where ??? can be Video, Time Lapse, Burst)

So for example you can say GoPro Video mode to turn the GoPro into Video mode or you can say GoPro Time Lapse mode to turn the GoPro into Time Lapse mode. The other thing to note is that if you’re in say Video mode you can still use other voice commands like GoPro Take a Photo and it will change from VIdeo mode to Photo mode and take your photo however, it will then stay in photo mode.

Thanks so much @AdamGT !! Those are great suggestions! I will check if it has options for multiple languages since sometimes devices “hear” things differently from what I say lol

@AdamGT check out this #hablo article and let me know what you think

Yes I can understand @BeatrizfhSF and funnily my girlfriend tells me that nearly every day, well sometimes even more than once a day…she says “Adam you hear things differently from what I say” lol

Thanks @vijayparadkar !

Thanks @shantanu-kaizen ! Only one because I realized that I had to resize the photos to upload and that takes more time. So learning how this platform works

Yes I believe we can @BeatrizfhSF so I just keep on trying
