My comment on a business was removed, but the number of comments on the business page did not decrease. I noticed that the comment was removed by the drop in my view count.
After editing the comment, I requested it to be published on the form, but the comment was not published and the number of comments on the business page decreased after editing it.
In the past, after a comment was removed, the number of comments on the business page would first decrease and then be removed. My comment count did not decrease as it did with the previously removed comment.
Discrepancies, as you describe them, are likely due to different timeframes for updating the metrics on place pages and our detailed contribution stats pages. Some metrics are updated immediately, while others are only updated weekly or less frequently.
Other LGs have reported that hidden reviews no longer get subtracted from our total review count. I have not tested this myself.
I realized that my comments that I rate without writing a comment are not added to my profile as a count. Only one comment I published has no text. When I write a text in that comment, my comment count is 202. When I remove the content in the comment and publish it, my comment count is 201.
The number of comments in the business profile and the number of comments I see on the website do not match. When I log out of Google and look at my profile on the maps on the website, it shows that I have 195 comments live, but when I log in to Google, it shows that I have 201 comments on my profile.
I have a total of 202 comments on Google. If we subtract the comment that does not contain a comment, my comment count is 201. On businesses, it shows that 196 of my comments are live.
I checked all my comments one by one and five of them have been removed. When I log out of Google, the number in my maps profile on the website is incorrect.
Thank you for your time. As you said, if the comment does not contain text, it counts as a rating and not as a comment. My number of unpublished comments is 5 and 196+5=201. The number matches, but as I said, when I look at my maps profile on the website, the number is missing one number.
