Google review not private but not showing publicly

I was directed over here from another help section because one of my reviews is not showing publicly. I have 34 reviews, everyone can see that on my contributions page so my review is not hidden. My review is also showing up on the score count of the business but the actual review is not showing with the reviews for that business. Please see the details here.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi @Kate1003

I am not sure to understand your issue. Can you please add a link to the review that you cannot see?

I just checked one of your reviews, that is publicly visible on the business listing.

Also please try to force a logout from Google maps, clear the cache and login again

Hello Ernest, my review for Weaver Exterior Remodeling is not showing on their review page. That review is not private and is effecting their review score but you cannot read the review from their google review page. This review I feel is important as they damaged my home and they have outstanding reviews, which is why I used them. Unfortunately they did not do good work on my home.

Not all reviews are shown for any particular place. The reviews that are shown or not shown is determined by a number of factors - reviews must abide by the Maps User Contributed Content Policy and those that do not are marked private, they can be reported by the business or by the community and in some cases they will be marked private.

Paul

I’ve just checked and I can see your review @Kate1003

Hi Paul, can you see my review under Weaver’s Google page (when you Google Weaver and click their review tabs) or when you look at my contributions page? The review is visible on my contribution page, that I know because I can see it in incognito mode but I cannot see it on Weavers Google page along with others who have reviewd that business which is what I am asking. I think it’s important that people see what they did to my house because they have mostly positive reviews which is why I used them. If I had seen reviews like mine I would have reconsidered.

Hi @Kate1003 ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community!

I just wanted to provide some update, as at the moment your review is available on the Google Maps page of Weaver Exterior Remodeling, as to assure you about the latest reply from @PaulPavlinovich . : ]

Additionally, you may also use the tagging system, with the “@” so that the name of a person you are forwarding the message will appear, as it also allows you to receive notification to follow up posts easily.

@sonnyNg thank you Sonny.

Could you also give any tips on how we can report businesses that artificially inflate their reviews using employees to positively rate themselves?

This company (Alu-Rex) was the product manufacturer of the poor Weaver installation on my house so I personally talked to all these people to complain about their product. They have given 5 star reviews of their own company and product which is agsinst Google review terms of service. I provided links to show these people are employed by Alu-Rex in the link below. Please advise.

This article will help you @Kate1003 https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Help-Desk/How-to-identify-and-report-fraud-on-Google-Maps/ba-p/553272

Please remember Local Guides is not a revenge mechanism. Reviews and other User Generated Content needs to be from personal experience and worded objectively with only the facts and no opinions or names of people.

Hi. I have used the report review mechanism for “conflict of interest” 4 times prior to posting my question and nothing was ever done about it. The automated response I got was

Hi,

Thanks for flagging potential policy or legal violations on Google. We’ve received your report under the following abuse category: spam or unwanted content.

The Google Team

I’m just pointing out that despite Google saying that this is against t.o.s. there is no way to properly report businesses rating themselves. This has nothing to do with revenge but simply that the company employees including senior management have reviewed their own company product favourably which is against Google tos and I am proof it has problems which the company has been unhelpful with, the general manager Luc Masson even threatened me to take down my negative review. Google Reviews exist to help the public make informed decisions about places and companies where they will spend their money. How is this possible if companies rate themselves 5 stars and there is no way to adequately report it?

Hi I tried reporting the reviews prior to posting that question. I reported 4 times for “conflict of interest” and nothing ever came of it. The reviews remained.

You could visit Google My Business https://business.google.com/ and use the reporting features under contact there. I know that someone people have had success with that.

Hi, My review for the Botanist in Kirribilli isn’t showing up unless I log in. Not such a bad review by any stretch and not in breach of any T&C’s. Any ideas? I submitted it over a week ago now and one that was submitted yesterday by someone else is showing up. Not much point in submitting reviews if they are going to be hidden.

Cheers,

Neil

My review is not showing either
