Google marking a place temporarily closed

On June 20th I had marked Asian Box 1078 E Brokaw Rd, San Jose, CA 95131 as closed and Google accepted my edit but still labeled it as temporarily closed. Today I uploaded photo evidence that this place is now permanently closed and once again I get an email saying Google accepted my edit but still says temporarily closed.

Hello @dave234

What are you using “Doesn’t Exist Here” or what.

if you use other then try “Doesn’t Exist Here” if it’s not work then try “Permanently Closed”

Thank You! Keep Contributing, All The Best

I was using Permanently Closed. I’m trying Doesn’t Exist Here.

Tried Doesn’t Exist Here and it was rejected aka Not accepted.

It’s possible that the business owner has claimed the listing and is preventing you from permanently closing it. They may not be doing it intentionally, but Google may be awaiting confirmation from the owner. Other people reporting it’s closure may result in Google eventually listing it as possibly closed (something I see often, and it usually asks me to confirm if that is the case), and I imagine (but I don’t know for certain) that Google would give the business owner a certain amount of time to respond before taking any action to remove a listing. You could try reporting it via the “Your opinions about Maps” option from the Report a problem menu but I don’t know that the outcome would be any different. Hope that provides a bit more info, and sorry it isn’t actually more helpful.
