Hi @Kristen_NYC
I am short on words to describe the amazing experience at the Google Moderator Meeting in Tokyo last year.
Besides the wonderful interaction with fellow moderators and all the important updates from Google staff, the top takeaway was the stacks of stickers that you shared. It had a butterfly effect.
I shared the stickers during meetups subsequently in India. And local guides are loving it!
Here are a few glimpses…
@AjitThite fondly put the Local Guides sticker on his laptop that he uses for designing all the amazing logos and banners for our local guide group of Pune.
@Anannya_19 created a delightful arrangement with snacks and stickers during a recent meetup in Pune.
Enthusiastic local guide from Pune @abhishekpatk proudly displayed the stickers during his meetup.
@Onkarjadhav who has additional interests in trekking and mountaineering proudly counts the stickers among his favorite stuff like a smart watch and badges.
@NERKARAMIT pasted the Google Maps sticker where it rightly belongs - on the back of his Toyota car, letting everyone know that he is a proud local guide!
Innovative @Ketan_Kangankar put the sticker on his laptop bag so that wherever he goes, his identity as a local guide follows him
An inspired Ketan subsequently hosted his first meetup recently in Pune.
Foremost local guide from Mumbai @Rohan10 who is admired by one and all, near and far, pasted all 3 stickers on the back of his Suzuki Baleno car.
One sticker each on the left side, right, and in the middle near the Suzuki logo.
Rohan conducted his meetup in Mumbai last week.
@Raj_Tayade traveled overnight 350 km from Aurangabad last week to attend Rohan’s meetup.
He runs a small business and also promoted other small businesses during the meetup.
On returning home the next morning, Raj pasted the stickers on the showcase of his shop.
It looks very cute, together with his other Google swags and certificates!
Local guide stalwart @Shrut19 was a happy person to have collected the Google Maps and Local Guides sticker at the meetup in Mumbai last week.
We are looking forward to seeing where she displays the stickers.
Shruti M. has been a local guide coordinator and promoter for almost a decade now.
Her consistency and perseverance know no bounds.
Last but not least, Meetup Champion and the most famous local guide of India TravellerG added the Google Stickers to his collection and also shared his Local Guides-themed calendar with everyone at the meetup in Mumbai yesterday.
The bio-degradable pens were designed and shared by Rohan and the collage card was shared by Ajit Thite.
The yellow and white badges at the bottom were designed and shared by me.
My favorite usage is by local guide KJ22999, real name Kalpesh Jain.
He put the sticker on his helmet, seen prominently.
As a bike rider, I find this innovative and an apt place to place the sticker
I mentioned him in the comment below due to the limitations on the number of tags.
The badges and swags were a new trend that we picked up from the experience at the Tokyo meet where all moderators shared gifts and souvenirs with everyone else.
This trend is gathering momentum in India, where the tendency was predominantly to seek gifts from Google.
With the new practice of exchanging gifts, I am looking forward to a reduction in the complaints and messages from India about lost gift parcels from Google like pins and socks. This is the butterfly effect where a gesture at one place created good ripples somewhere else faraway.

~ These were the 2 top takeaways from the moderators’ meetup in Tokyo.
