Google Maps has introduced a subtle yet noticeable change to the user interface of its profile section within the Contribute page. This update affects the placement of key profile elements, offering a refreshed layout for contributors.
What’s Changed?
Previously, when users accessed the Contribute page in Google Maps, they would see their name and Local Guide level displayed at the top. Below that, there was an option labeled “View Your Profile” and a display of the total number of followers.
With the latest update:
- The “View Profile” button has been moved to the right side of the user’s name.
- The total number of followers is no longer displayed directly on this page. Instead, users must click “View Profile” to access their follower count.
Impact on Users
While these changes are relatively minor, they alter how users quickly access their profile details and follower count. Contributors who frequently check their follower numbers will now need to take an extra step to view this information.
