I am doing from quite a while now, that is editing the misspelt names of my neighboring place’s locations, like its name in another language, but some of them are not accepted though it was correct. I want to know the exact process how google is “checking for accuracy” as they say, after submitting an edit request?
I would like to extend this question for additional parameters beyond the name of a place. Over the years I’ve been able to add at least dozens (if not hundreds) of new places, correct locations of existing ones, and do additional required edits, around the place. The accurate location is especially important when you’re out there in the nature and cannot simply ask someone like for urban locations.
Yet, recently, I’ve seen that several attempts to add new locations (for a garden, or a business we visited and thought other people will appreciate too), in Israel, my home country, would simply not be completed. No message of rejection, no asking of additional details. NOTHING. Just complete nothing after the first reply of “Under review: …” with the status of “Pending”. And then, maybe a few months later, when I check the status again, I can see “Not Accepted” with absolutely no explanation nor reasoning.
I wish Google would give SOME explanation to its decisions.
You are absolutely right bro. Here in India, when I correct any name, photo or spelling of some location, they are simply not accepted most of them, without any explanation. Even once I have uploaded some of the photos of some place to correct it or place creation, in the photo it is clearly visible, but after some time I checked it is not accepted. Even some of the information are misleading that I correct them and got “not accepted”. That’s frustrating.
Google really need to look after the issue or at least tell us what their procedure is.
Thanks for your inputs. Hopefully, we will get some feedback from Google itself. I actually have a very good friend working in Google as a project manager, but she’s working on completely different issues.
