Google Maps overflooded with fake reviews and off-topic photos

Hi fellow Local Guides,
I am discovering quite a lot of issues in my area, especially with off-topic reviews and misplaced photos. I was instructed by other Google Maps users to report all of such instances, but as there are many, I suspect that most of my reports are now flagged as spam. I am not seeing any of the reports in my Local Guides profile.

Problem is that I was trying to report one single review made by another Local Guide, which obviously contains photos that are misplaced and off-topic, but Google refused to remove such photos each time, except in 2 instances.

Photos were taken at Archeological site Belo brdo (Vinca - White HIll) and added to review of Vinca Nuclear research institute. You can easily verify this by comparing photos of those two locations.

If you check dates of each photo in this particular review, you can see that this user edited it multiple times, and kept adding new photos between 2022-2024, so it looks like it was intentional. I noticed this issue 4 years ago, and thought it was a bug, but I am now really annoyed by Google not doing anything to prevent such activities.

Note that this issue affects one high profile state owned institution, which in contrast to photos published on their account by a Local Guide, do not allow taking photos within the perimeter of nuclear facilities.

So if these photos were really from nuclear facility (instead of actually being taken at the archeological site located 2km South-East), the only way they could appear on this Business profile, would be if author had been granted permission to take photos.

By being a resident of this village, I can tell you that I had never met any local citizen in past 40 years, who had an opportunity to visit nuclear facility and take photos or videos. Be sure that local citizens would never post such photos on social media, in order to avoid any potential persecution by the authorities.

I also find the flagging in Google Maps to not be effective at all.

After unsuccessful flagging you can try the Google Maps Help Community. Include the Maps links and screenshots showing the result of your prior flagging. One place at a time. Try baking it easy for the product experts to escalate you case.
