Google Maps Officially marks the Kurdistan Region on the Map

With great pride, I am pleased to announce the inclusion of the Kurdistan Region on Google Maps for the first time. This significant milestone not only underscores the breathtaking beauty and diverse tapestry of the region but also emphasizes its profound cultural heritage. By enhancing accessibility, we anticipate fostering tourism and supporting local businesses. Moreover, this development empowers residents and visitors alike to explore the awe-inspiring landscapes and historical landmarks that define Kurdistan. Collaboratively, we can cultivate a deeper appreciation and understanding of this remarkable region.

For the inaugural time, the Kurdistan Region is distinctly delineated on Google Maps, representing a pivotal milestone in terms of visibility, recognition, and representation on a global platform. This development not only bolsters the region’s identity but also facilitates tourism and investment opportunities. Local businesses can now attract a broader audience, capitalizing on their newfound visibility to promote their services and cultural offerings. Furthermore, this transformation may engender a greater comprehension of the region’s unique history and aspirations among international communities. Consequently, the Kurdish people may experience a renewed sense of pride in their heritage and contributions to the broader narrative of the Middle East.

Wow, thanks for sharing here, @DiyarBakirwahab!
To be honest, I’m a little bit confused, so this is Kurdistan in Iraq, right? Because I heard from some sources that Kurdistan is not located only in Iraq.

Indeed, the Great Kurdistan is geographically divided among four countries: Turkey, Syria, Iran, and Iraq.
The Sykes–Picot Agreement of 1916 established the boundaries of these countries, and only South Kurdistan, also known as Kurdistan-Iraq, enjoys a degree of autonomy.
