Google Maps Location Link Issue đź”—

Currently, some local guides is facing issues of location links not opening & taking to “Dynamic Link Not Found” page.

While list links is working properly, some location links inserted by local guides is not taking them to Google Maps.

Please let me know if there’s any solution to this in the comments below :backhand_index_pointing_down:t2: .

Hi @Rahul001
Can you share some examples?

Two possible causes to check:

Could the place/photo/review be hidden by the spamfilter? In that case the link works for the creator only.

Some Maps links might not work across the three platforms: Android, iOS and Web.

How, i.e. from where were the links copied, @Rahul001?

When sharing links form Google sites, mot of the times, it does not work to copy the URL from the address field of the browser. As far as I know, many of those contain keys working only for one user and possibly only for a limited time.

The correct way is to use the share button to copy a link. One exception is link to your profile. On a desktop browser, you just can copy the URL form the address field.

Hy @NareshDarji & @MortenCopenhagen,

Above is the page I was forwarded to when opening this link.

Is this issue of the browser?

It opens just fine on my Android phone:

You need to investigate if this is a cross platform issue (a known bug).

@Rahul001 looking at your example, it looks like a shared link. Perhaps it was somehow damaged by copy and paste or as @MortenCopenhagen suggested created on a different platform. I have seen that too trying to a link on Android created on Windows or vice versa.

Here is the cross platform link Google Maps

Generated with the share button as suggested by @WilfriedB.

Trying to open https://goo.gl/app/maps/UkbYdEbPaCa4JJ7q9?_nr=1on Android, also brought the error message for me.

Hy @WilfriedB & @MortenCopenhagen ,

Seen the screenshot I shared. Link I copied & link that screenshot showing is not the same. I cleared the cache (which doesn’t remove the issue) & re-installed the Google Maps again. That actually worked & link is opening now.

Thank you @WilfriedB & @MortenCopenhagen for your help.

Hy @SarathUpendran, you might want to look into this.

Hi @Rahul001

Thanks for raising this issue.

The link is opening fine for me on a desktop PC using the Edge browser.
I am checking on an Android device.
