Google Maps issue. All lists are gone.

Dozens of lists are gone. It’s been weeks now.

Haven’t had any luck with support.

There has been other people with the same problem, that has never been resolved for them.

Under my profile I am able to pull up my contributions and reviews. There I could tell my reviews were missing the saved list so I went through and resave them to the list. It showed that they saved. When I went back to my saved list they were there. I was getting ready to post the same problem. :pleading_face:

Hi @naisanza

I can see you public lists without problems

Maybe it was just a temporary server issue. Please check again.

Cheers

Morten

@4CharleneWard

Looking at your profile I find none of your photos, reviews, and lists are public. Hopefully it is a server issue, if not the spam filter has hit you hard.

Try viewing your profile in incognito mode. If you don’t see your photos and reviews please make another thread to get help. Since your problem is different from that of @naisanza .

Cheers

Morten

I can see your 107 lists. It took a little bit for them to load, but they did. Your Maps lists should also be visible to you in google.com/save. Just make sure you’re logged in.

@MortenCopenhagen when you say report a thread is that through connect or through Google maps support? I apologize for the silly question however I’m new to this and not sure what I’m doing. Thank you!

@4CharleneWard

Connect is used as a tool where we can find solutions to different problems via search. Therefore it is best not to have more than one issue in each thread here on Connect. Please feel free to start a new thread (a new question) in the How-to section here on Connect.

No questions are silly!

Cheers

@MortenCopenhagen Thank You! You are always so helpful.

Can you post the url to that page you’re seeing? I can’t seem to find that

Also, this is what I see when I go to

https://www.google.com/save

@naisanza

It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply. Else we need to guess who you are replying to.

I did see your lists in the Google app (on my android phone). I don’t think lists from other Local Guides can be seen on a desktop computer.

Please, try Clear cache & cookies, if you have not already done so. The link has step-by-step instructions for Android, IOS, and Desktop. Just select the relevant tab at the top.

Also, please log out of your Local Guides account and log back in, and update your Google Maps app if necessary.

Best of luck
Morten

Ok, so “Maps (your places)” did not have the Saved Lists.

It’s only a collection of your “saved places”, e.g. any place that’s been saved to a list (but doesn’t specify which list it was saved to, only that it had been saved).

Doing a data export of all of Maps now.

@MortenCopenhagen

It looks like there are some issue downloading my maps data

Which might be related to why it’s broken

Sorry I can’t help you, @naisanza .

@naisanza

I can’t get to the address in the internet, but I can through the Maps Application. If I click on my profile, from there you can pick from reviews, photos, saved list.

At the bottom of this screen you see

When I click at the bottom where it says See All Saved Lists. That is where I took those pictures of my Saved Lists. I don’t know how to get the URL and the application. I apologize!

Yep

A bit too technical that will need some data exploring

It’s a 27 GB dump I’ll need to code up something to comb through it
