I’m trying to diagnose why Google Maps doesn’t suggest a location based on the photo’s geotag information. I’ve enabled location settings in Google Photos and Google Maps, and the photo itself definitely has geotag information as well.
I added a video to demonstrate what occurs.
Any thoughts on why my Google Pixel 2 XL doesn’t suggest locations based on the geotag? I now have to search manually for the location when sharing directly from Google Photos.
Maps suggests photos based on the timing as compared to your Timeline @KTRKMountainGuy GPS in phones is very inaccurate, the best you can hope for is 10m so it uses confirmed visits and time stamps instead.
Please make sure to @PaulPavlinovich kindly shared, as for the moment, the post would be relocated to How-tos, should it be more relevant to the main subject with the nature of specific possible issue.
Do feel free to share further notes on the matter, as well. : ]
