Dear Google Maps and Street View Team,
My name is Mo Sayed Hasan, and I am a Level 8 Google Maps Local Guide. I have made thousands of contributions to Google Maps, and my contributions have received millions of views worldwide.
I am writing to propose an initiative to introduce Google Street View coverage across Syria, a country with a rich history, diverse landscapes, and many cities, towns, villages, and roads that deserve to be better represented on Google Maps.
At present, many areas of Syria lack comprehensive street-level imagery. This limits the ability of residents, visitors, researchers, businesses, and humanitarian organizations to explore locations and navigate with confidence.
I have extensive knowledge of Syrian geography and its road networks, from the north to the south and from the east to the west. I believe this knowledge, combined with my experience as an active Google Maps Local Guide, could be valuable in supporting a future street-mapping initiative.
I would be very interested in participating in such a project, whether as a driver, field mapping specialist, local geographic consultant, or member of a data collection team. I would also welcome the opportunity to work with Google or an authorized mapping partner if a suitable project or position becomes available.
I believe that expanding Street View coverage in Syria would help preserve local heritage, support tourism and economic development, improve access to geographic information, and make Syrian communities more visible to the world.
Could you please advise me whether Google has any plans to expand Street View coverage in Syria, whether there are opportunities to collaborate on such an initiative, or whether you could direct me to the appropriate team or an authorized partner?
