I was invited by Ismaya Group, one of the famous hospitality industry that has a lot of restaurant in Indonesia to have dinner at their Italian fine dining restaurant called GIA.This is my second time visiting GIA.I have been here to have Christmas dinner on 2018. This time is on weekday. It is not crowded and we do not need to do the reservation just like on a crowded weekend.
Besides Jakarta, there is also GIA Dubai that opened on 2018. Good job for Ismaya Group who spreads their restaurant franchise overseas! And the name “GIA” comes from a famous Italian model. So, there is no special meaning on it.
Here are what we tried :
Otto e Mezzo
For the drink, I tried one of their mocktail menu which is a combination of mango, passion fruit, low fat yoghurt, and chia seed. It has thick texture, the mango tastes more dominant, not sour and less sweet. Now GIA uses stainless straw as a part to save our planet. And this is my first time using this kind of straw. I have not used to use this straw. So, sometimes I found the straw “hit” my teeth
Cacio E Pepe Arancini with Gorgonzola Sauce
It has round shape that is fried with flour, filled with croquette rice similar with risotto, parmigiano cheeese, pecarino cheese, and gorgonzola sauce a.k.a blue cheese. Tastes good and the cheese is also great!
Burrata Pugliese
A luxury appetizer made from white burrata that is divided into two. Burrata is an Italian cow milk cheese made from mozzarella and cream. It looks similar with white egg, and has a combination of solid and mushy texture. This burrata is filled with cream cheese, sprinkled with chives, served with tomato, caviar, and pesto basil sauce. Serves cold, tastes fresh just like a salad.
Quattro Formaggi & Tartufo Pizza
Six slices of semi thin crust pizza with the toppings : gorgonzola, parmesan, mozzarella, pecorino, truffle oi, omega 3 egg. This pizza is our favorite!
Ricotta E Capanota Pizza
Six slices of semi thin crust pizza with the toppings : ricotta cheese, mozzarella, sliced eggplants, basil.
Pappardelle Al Ragu Bolognese
Pappardelle pasta that has thick shape with curly cutting on the edge served with wagyu short ribs ragout, parmigiano cheese, chives, and bolognese sauce.
Linguine Picanti Allo Scoglio Rose
Linguine pasta which has thicker texture rather than spagetti, served wih clams, shrimp, baby squid, along with medium spicy sauce. For a seafood lovers, this pasta is great, and the seafood is fresh.
Affogato Alla Nocciola
This is also our favorite and recommended menu! A dessert! Soft chocolate brownies served with hazelnut ice cream and espresso sauce.
Tiramisu Classico
This dessert menu is similar with mousse which has soft texture made from tiramisu, and sprinkled with dark chocolate powder on top.
