Ghost Story

Redneck and I took the Ghost Tour in Hot Springs, one of the stories that was told was about Violet Boles who was murdered by Elmer Jones at her job at the Japanese Tea Room in 1922. One of the facts in the story was that they are buried next to one another, this shocked me so I decided to research the story. So here are the facts as reported in the Hot Springs New Era: It’s listed as a “Lover’s Quarrel” According to Chief of Police Sullivan, Elmer Jones went to the tea room and walked into the kitchen with a gun fired two shots into Violet Boles, three shots into the wall and one self inflicted bullet. The article states that Detective Herbert Ackers was able to ascertain that Elmer came to the tea room every day to walk Violet home from work. It was also determined that Violet went on a date with another young man on Tuesday of that week. So this started the quarrel. There is an article written by Kmarie Boles Hearn, great niece of Violet, she states that they went to high school together and before he went off to WWI he proposed to her but she declined the offer, there are two more letters she reference. I find the story went really south quick. The family buried her and according to the story Elmer wasn’t claimed but he does have a military headstone, so not sure what’s fact there. I posted photos of the graves Elmer is in Violet’s vicinity. And just FYI Elmer Jones headstone has been violated someone has tried to scratch his first name of the headstone.

@RedneckandBaby The only nice thing of the story is that ghosts never shot a gun. And,please ,you have to understand that I apreciate this local story from Arkansas, but I am only trying to write this feeling:If ghosts could rectifie, would they do?'I mean I don’t think a killer ghost is happier than an unhappy man.Did you ever heard about a happy ghost?.

Well not sure why you think a ghost made the shots this story is told as a ghost story in regards to the unhealthy relationship that Elmer had with Violet, but all the same no I have never heard from a ghost, but I’m not oppose to the idea! :joy:
