It looks nice, also, it’s hard for me to believe there’s snow in NY. Is this a recent photo as well? Can you share more information about the monument and has there got any important elements from Washington’s live in his clothing or rest of the monument elements?
Yes, you are wright
I clicked this pic in 2014 in proper winter when I lived in NY for one year.
The statue commemorates the avacuation day, 25th November 1783 the day British left NY after the revolution & Washington led his army into the city.
The typical season at that time indeed. Do you know if this monument would recall any New York town borders from 1780s or is it a randomly located?
As I said the statue recalls the event when British departed NY. George Washington rode his horse & led his army down to the Battery Park. He passed by the Union Square. The statue represents him in the middle of the parade.
I don’t know details.
Do you not live in US ?
I didn’t mean to hesitate. I am sorry if the question caused any. Just wanted to know if it’s located within the old borders of New York. The place has expanded a lot and I have been there only once, for just a few hours. That’s why I am eager to know as much as possible about the different landmarks I could see if another trip happen. Thank you for clarifying, @Nazim_Orbachin
