I was fortunate enough to join a panel for Geo For Good during a Local Guides Summit, the Google Earth team do some amazing outreach activities and support community initiatives.
If you can demonstrate that you use Google Earth (and to some extent Maps) for the good of the community, environment, etc. Then consider applying to Geo For Good.
The Geo for Good Summit is intended for nonprofit, academic, public sector, private sector, and Indigenous peoples and local communities who are using Google Earth Engine and other geospatial tools for planetary sustainability and human resilience.
Oh, what a coincidence! Today’s morning I was browsing the maps for the Spam Free Maps initiative and I found this beautiful picture on the map of Singapore, the host country of this beautiful initiative. @PaulPavlinovich
This is indeed a great news, @PaulPavlinovich
Unfortunately I will not able to join the summit in person, but let see if there is also a virtual part.
Raleigh and the whole team are indeed amazing, the virtual panel where I had the opportunity to introduce Accessible Life (featured as one of the best projects in Google Earth), the meetup I hosted where the head of the developers of Google Earth attended , everything was simply incredible
And that opportunity is a great answer to the people who ask “why be a Local Guide” the opportunities being an exceptional Local Guide brings to you that enable you to change the world or your local community.
