This gate used to be used to enter Vijayanagar

state at that time (around 13th century), there are 2 to 3 more similar gates which were used by common people at that time. After the invasion of the Mughal Sultanate, they destroyed the kingdom of Hampi, where only the broken ruins stand to show their valor.

This place came under the Vijayanagar Empire in the 13th century, this empire was built by the brothers King Harihara I and Bukka Raya II, at that time it was said that diamonds flowed from the Tungabhadra river in that state so the Vijayanagar Empire was considered a prosperous one and its market was also prosperous.
