Museums are one of the great things that I really enjoy visiting. They are a repository of knowledge and one can associate with them. Above all, the museums which shows some unique artefacts always attract me.
One such museum which I visited last was Gass Forest Museum (Coimbatore, India). It is more than 100 years old and dedicated to wild animals, reptiles, birds, etc. It also has aquatic organisms. Although cells & tissues of real organisms are preserved, the museum showcases dummy models of these wild animals & birds.
It is mostly visited by school kids and college students studying zoology. Here, I’m sharing the pictures of this museum during my recent visit to here.
I’ve checked Gass Forest Museum on Google Maps and it looks to be very big.
I totally agree with you and I think that museums are worth visiting especially from the students when they are still in the school because they can related things that they see there with what they are studying now.
One example of my life is when I’ve visited Kafka Museum in Prague. I’ve studied this time about Franz Kafka and it was very interesting for me.
I think that museums are knowledge hubs not only for students, but for everyone who want to understand about past. It is said that “If you don’t know where you are coming from, you can’t appreciate where you’re going”.
Kafka Museum is really beautiful and seems to be of international standards. I never read about Franz Kafka, but I read a lot about other German personalities - like Max Muller, Karl Marx and Max Weber. Their sociological theories were amazing.
I enjoy almost every type of museum, and mostly those which has some unique theme. Sometimes, I visit another city just to see the museum there …
Actually, I wanted to ask you one more thing. I have made a list a Famous Museums in India on Google Maps. It includes all the popular ones - some of which I’ve visited. Can I share that list here on Connect?
