Kota Nagar or Garh was founded in about 1264 AD by Prince Jait Singh of Bundi, and the state of Kota was founded in 1624 AD by Rao Madho Singh, son of Rao Raja Ratan Singh of Bundi, who declared himself a King. The renovation and expansion of the Garh Palace or Raj Mahal was initiated was built by him during his reign. He was favoured by Emperor Shah Jahan who recognised this independent state. He and his descendants as Rao Jagat Singh, Rao Ram Singh, Rao Bhim Singh who was titled as Maharao etc looked after the Southern India on behalf of the Mughals. So state was highly prosperous and glorious due to its superior relations with the Mughal rulers and it was expanded in all respects. Later in 1818 AD it was the Princely State and were having an honour of 17 Guns Salute.

The complex of this fort is among the largest fort complexes in Rajasthan. It’s situated on the bank of Chambal River. The elephant gate was built in the 17th century is a beautiful entrance to the fort. The fort’s bastions, screened balconies, domes, percussions etc are very attractive. As it was built by Rao Madho Singh though various glass and wall paintings are credited to Maharao Ram Singh, Maharao Shatru Singh and Maharao Umed Singh whose reign was from 1889 to 1948 AD all will were the Hada Chauhan.

Kota’s Garh Palace is a unique and stunning palace now it houses the Rao Madho Singh Trust Museum. Tourists remain surprised by the fascinating collection of valuable items related to the history and heritage of Kota. Its architecture which is a fusion of Rajputana and Mughal Architecture is superb and classy.
The beautiful patings of Kota, statues, sculptures, photographs, weapons and many objects and belongings related to the royal dynasty can be seen in this museum. Like Silver Chair, Silver Hukkas, Royal Stamps, Royal Dresses, Royal Chair decorated with Ivory work, Musical instruments etc.
Entry fee is quite affordable and it’s wonderful place for history buffs wanderers soulseekers art sculpture architecture heritage and culture lovers.

Thank you very much for your kind attention of course it has the reason as it’s stunning white Raj Mahal also built in Rajputana style with the magnificent Elephant Gate a sign of prosperity. Of just I have shared the pictures and details I will post soon.
