Thanks for sharing about your photowalk @Saurabh_Narang a good turn out. What sorts of things did you see? Did the people enjoy themselves?
@PaulPavlinovich I started with a small presentation on fundamentals of photography (mainly compicompos) and then we walked to MG Road (main market in Gangtok) to experiment different frames. We visited a lot of local eating joints and ended our walk at a cafe. Yeah I think we all enjoyed the day. Do you have any plans to visit India?
That sounds great @Saurabh_Narang
I visited India in 2006. I stayed in Chennai and visited quite a few places nearby.
@PaulPavlinovich wow that sounds amazing. I love south India, it’s beautiful!
It certainly had its beautiful areas @Saurabh_Narang I was there for work (weird huh, an Australian coming to India for IT - it is usually the other way around). While I was there I visted some of Chennai and the nearby beaches. I visited several temples including Shore Temple in Mahabalipuram.
I also saw the destruction left by the 2004 tsunami along the coastal areas and how empty that land now was. I imagine it is built up again now.
@PaulPavlinovich well these days it’s very common. Chennai is a favorite outsourcing destination for a lot of IT cos. I am glad you like your stay in Chennai and saw a quite bit. Did you go to Pondicherry?
That’s so nice to hear @Saurabh_Narang . Thank you for sharing your recap with us. Did you discover something new during your Meet-up?
By the way, I changed your topic label to Meet-ups, as it fits better there.
I did go to Pondicherry @Saurabh_Narang my co-worker fell for a tourist scam there. It made my day. Nothing funnier than watching a fool part with his money :).
Regards Paul
@PaulPavlinovich haha you seem to have a great sense of humor ![]()
@InaS thanks for the update. Yeah found some really cool places. Gangtok is amazing.
That’s nice to hear @Saurabh_Narang , why not add these places here? I am sure it will be interesting for other Local Guides to see and read more about Gangtok.
@InaS yeah really liked your idea. I will put up an article about Gangtok soon. Thanks ![]()
