Kashi is completely colored in religious colors. Where pilgrims, devotees and Sages can be seen offering prayers at the holy pilgrimage ghats from the dawn amidst of chanting Mantras. It is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world with being the spiritual center of Hindu faith. It is the main center of art and culture. The pilgrimage ghats situated along the Ganges are the major attractions of Kashi. One of these ghats, Ganga Mahal Ghat, art lovers understand the importance of this ghat.
Ganga Mahal was built by the Banaras rulers in early nineteenth century. As rulers belongs to the Narayan dynasty it’s maintained by the Kashi Naresh Mharani Trust. This palace is built by stones in Awadhi and Rajputana architectural style. This palatial magnificent palace describe the interest in arts and culture of Narayan dynasty rulers. Now it bears a creative art studio, and study centre of Indo-Swedish University. It’s also having accommodation for the students coming from abroad to learn art and music. After this palace this Ghat is known as Ganga Mahal Ghat. Indeed it’s just close to the Assi Ghat seems to be an extension of Assi Ghat.
Half an hour is enough to enjoy the visit and I couldn’t visit the interior of this magnificent palace due to lack of time. But visitors may seek the permission to visit this Royal Palace belongs to the Banaras State.
Thispalace looks and sounds really interesting and the kind of place that I like visiting @rizbab28 . You said that you didn’t visit the interior but is there an entrance fee? Also, is it a busy place, I mean lots of tourists?
Hi dear you are just awesome and I like your specific concerns. Well entry fee may not be there as it’s a Indo-Swedish study centre for art and music. And the designer studio owner will love to entertain you. I am sure you have great memoir. You are my strength.
