In a photography’s technique, the astro-photography is not limited to photos of the stars only, when we take the full moon photo it’s also called the astro-photography. During the full moon it is almost impossible to take the milky-way photos as the light pollution from the moon and we will only see the bigger and brightest star in the sky.
The day of the full moon it’s the day that I always waiting for every month. Most of the time I captured the moon from my front yard. But there was once or twice I went to the beach to take the full moon photos.
It was on May 26 this year (2021) I took the photo of super blood moon from Sanur Beach in Bali. The moon was totally look so red. On that early evening I was capturing tons of photos. Photo below:
On the first quarter of 2020, I took the super moon photo as the moon orbiting closer to the earth. The term “supermoon” was coined by the astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979 and refers to either a new or full Moon that occurs within 90% of perigee, its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit (Nasa). My last year’s supermoon photo was featured by Coconut Singapore’s website and re-shared by Yahoo! News and Asianewsday.
Quoted from BaliSpirit’s website: The full and new moon days have special importance for the Balinese, as their yearly calendar is based on the moon phases each month.
My experiences in taking the full moon photos have no very special effort or difficulties as I can take the photos from any location and time during the full moon. The basic setting for the camera also not really complicated, I can just the setting on my camera on Manual Mode with Shutter Speed is 1/125 or 1/250 second, ISO 100 (as I use my Fujifilm XT-2 camera) or the lowest ISO that available in your camera and Aperture is between 7 - 11 so that the moon captured not really bright or dark and yet you can still get the perfect shot.
You can always check my Instagram’s account for more full moon photos.

Hello my dear Devi…
You are also a very good photographer and for moon photos you need at least a 300mm lens - that is all…
Hope to see a shot from you in the future…
All the best…
