Today I’m sharing some photos that were taken during a night out at the Music Box Supper Club. The venue is located in an area of Cleveland, Ohio known as “The Flats” - more specifically, the “West Bank of The Flats” as there is also an “East Bank” - located on the eastern side of the Cuyahoga River.
The Flats are one of the most popular entertainment districts in Ohio and there’s a number of fun and exciting places to visit. The West Bank is home to The Cleveland Improv, which hosts local and national comedy acts throughout the year; The Jacob’s Pavilion, which hosts concerts & music festivals all summer long; and, the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, which is something that the entire family can enjoy, any day of the year.
We visited the West Bank to have dinner and attend a live music performance at the Music Box Supper Club. The band - Moving In Stereo - is a cover band that plays music by The Cars. They are one of the few cover bands that’s recognized and recommended by the original band and after a show you’ll definitely understand why!
I’m a fan of classic rock & roll music and The Cars is one of my personal favorites. We’ve seen Moving In Stereo before and have been eagerly awaiting another opportunity, so I was excited to check out the show.
We arrived around dusk, which created some wonderful lighting for photos. We had cocktails on the deck around sunset, which created yet another opportunity.
You @Mikeinthefalls had a nice dinner time, enjoyed a classic rock concert, had refreshing drinks in that friday night.Beautyful pictures about that time!.I wonder if the Cleveland Browns games are near enough for me to have an even more wonderful night.
The Cleveland Browns stadium is actually very close, essentially just over the hill. The Flats are a great place to go after the game, to keep the party going.
You can see from the screenshot that the stadium and the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame are both within 5 minutes of The Flats.
Thanks @TerryPG for taking a look and appreciating. I thought you’d like that mural, actually meant to take a photo of a really fun one in Myrtle Beach but kept forgetting.
Thanks for reading, I’m glad you liked the photos. Much appreciated @TusharSuradkar
I have driven by the USS Cod many a time and honestly never thought to stop and take a tour. But after reading your excellent and detailed post, now I will be adding it to the list!
Let me know the next time you’re in Cleveland or Detroit, would be cool to meetup and do some sightseeing and Mapping.
I enjoyed exploring the river bank through your photos, and the bridge is just so beautiful. The night ambience looks so fun, and the improv show sounds like a blast!
@Rednewt74 thanks, I’m glad to see you enjoyed the post! I was very fortunate to have some great lighting and The Flats always offer up some nice photo opportunities.
A fellow Cars fan? That’s great, such a unique sound. I think I took a few videos? If so, I’ll share a link and you can enjoy.
@AZ_2021 I’m glad to provide you with the opportunity to virtually explore! Yes, it’s a grand old bridge and it really just kinda has this whole Cleveland, blue collar vibe. The Flats is a great place to be on a warm, summer night… always boats & kayaks going up & down the river, plus all the different people and places - ALWAYS plenty to see and do.
Hey @Mo_TravelleerX thanks for checking out a slice of life in Cleveland. I’m so glad to see that you enjoyed my photos! It was fun to think of which places I’d photograph and share with Connect. Thanks, again
