Every Friday, Googlers round up some of the best posts they came across during the week to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. This week, exploring Amsterdam, the Aktovsky Canyon, and more.
@RadieN : Amsterdam, The Netherlands is a unique city with amazing architecture, remarkable museums, wide canals, and countless bicycles, all showcased in @IgorVats 's post “Амстердам впечатляет,” which I want to highlight this week. In it, @IgorVats not only tells us about his trip to Amsterdam and shows us his lovely photos, but also gives really useful travel tips for visitors on a budget. If you plan to visit this European gem, but you’re not sure exactly when to go, what to see, and what to eat there, check out this great article!
@Aruni : The post I liked the most this week is shared by Local Guide @DoanNT and it’s titled “Langbiang Peak.” Lang Biang Peak is considered to be one of the highest peaks in southern Vietnam and it looks absolutely amazing! @DoanNT tells us the romantic legend of the Lang Biang Mountain, which actually consists of two mountains. He also mentions the activities you can enjoy there, such as going for a picnic, climbing the peak or just marvelling at the beautiful nature around. You can even feel some of the magnificence of this place through @DoanNT ’s great photos!
@Petra_M : This week, @AndrianN ’s post “Menikmati Masa Lalu Dalam Tarian Rakyat Dunia” caught my attention. In it, @AndrianN introduces the annual Surabaya Cross Culture International Folk Art Festival which is held in Surabaya, Indonesia every July. This 4-day event includes a series of folk dance performances, dancing workshops, and even environmental care activities. There are dancers from Europe, America, and Asia, all dressed in traditional attire. The post is written both in Indonesian and English and has fantastic photos—a true multicultural experience! Make sure to check it out.
@InaS : The seaside seems to attract many people who are looking to escape the summer heat in the city. But when it comes to finding peace and harmony in nature, I prefer to go in the mountains. This week I stumbled upon the post “The Land of Nature’s Power” by @JaneBurunina and I loved it! In her post, @JaneBurunina describes the beauty of some of the oldest rock formations not only in Ukraine, but in all of Europe. One of them—the Aktovsky Canyon—is the only canyon on the continent that has the same geological characteristics as the Great Canyon in the USA! @JaneBurunina tells us about the myths and legends related to this region, as well as the activities that you can do there. Her spectacular photos convey a sense of freedom, so if you want a breath of fresh air, just have a look at her post.
