Friday Favorites: accessible Venice, homemade pani puri, and more

Every Friday, Google Moderators highlight the best posts they found to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. These are posts detailing past experiences that we hope will serve as entertainment and inspiration for your future bucket list. This week, accessible Venice, homemade pani puri, and more.

@MashaPS : Many of you have probably seen @ErmesT ’s post “Accessible Venice - A walk on Dordoduro’s bridges,” but I wanted to give it a special shout out in our Friday Favorites as well. In it, Ermes first shares some interesting information about Venice, like the fact that the city spans an impressive number of small islands, which are connected by an even more impressive number of bridges. He then talks about the current accessibility of Venice and the plans for its improvement. Ermes goes on to introduce the most accessible part of the city, Dorsoduro, a place for culture and modern art. Wheelchair users and parents with strollers might find his list of accessible places quite useful. And all this information is, of course, supported by beautiful photos. If you still haven’t read his post, make sure to check it out.

@TsekoV : Do you think that people can coexist with nature in harmony? This is the question that @FaridTDF ponders in his post “Ducks play rugby?.” I find his post thought-provoking. He describes the unexpected appearance of a flock of ducks in a flooded rugby pitch. Due to the global lockdown in the past few months, people around the world have started seeing animals coming closer to populated areas. Just recently, I saw wild deer crossing a usually busy hiking path in one nature park.

If you are curious to read more about this topic, don’t miss out on Farid’s post.

@Bobiisha : This week, I liked a post by Local Guide @jayasimha78 , who decided to take a walk along Manhattan Beach to capture the sunset. The photos he shared in “California Coastal Trail, Half Moon Bay, CA” look so serene because there were still not many people out in public spaces. His last photo shows The Ritz-Carlton Hotel perched on a cliff, which seems like a great place to enjoy scenic views of the ocean.

@VasT : My choice for this week is a wonderful post by @StephenAbraham , titled “Pani Puri - crispy, chewy, crunchy, tasty, juicy morsels of deliciousness.” This post showcases pani puri, one of India’s most popular street snacks. It is made of deep-fried dough, stuffed with vegetables, and filled with flavored water. Are you interested in Indian cuisine? Besides the mouthwatering photos, @StephenAbraham also shared an easy, step-by-step recipe for making some delicious pani puri at home.

Tell us about some of the best posts you’ve read on Connect lately and be sure to keep an eye out next week to see if one of your posts is selected for Friday Favorites! You can check out last week’s Friday Favorites here.

Oops @TsekoV , @MashaPS

This is totally unexpected, as the post is 10 days old, and is the latest post about my love-hate for the Venetian bridges, so beautiful and unique, so difficult to cross for many people.

Dorsoduro is an amazing part of Venice, so I hope it will be considered as one of the destination when visiting the area, especially for the Artistic aspect of the area, and because it is accessible

There are a lot of interesting post in this thread, I will have a lot to read, @FaridTDF , @jayasimha78 , @StephenAbraham
