I donât think this is possible. You can delete the image which will result in you loosing itâs views.
Reuploading old photos would be against the guidelines as photos should reflect the current situation.
Maybe @MoniDi could check this with the Maps team for official clarification.
Hello @KonDan, welcome to the Local Guides Connect community!
In several cases, I was able to have the photos re-instated, as well as deleted Points of Interest (POI), by submitting this form. Make sure, to do so as soon as possible and keep the permalinks to your photo and the listing.
I had cases, where suddenly single photos with views got hidden and show the triangle months after they were posted and other cases, when the POI was deleted, which then showed as âUnknown Placeâ on the photo and they are not public anymore.
For the latter, I submitted the form and the POI, my review and photos were reinstated after 5 weeks, if I remember correctly. For the former, I believe it was @MoniDi who escalated, but at that time, I wasnât aware of the form yet.
Please note, Google neither sends any information when or if your contributions are reinstated, nor why they were rejected or stay hidden.
Thank you Morten. But I must admit I have not been able to find guidelines explicitly prohibiting posting old photosđ¤.. At least not in âProhibited & restricted contentâ and âTips on posting media to mapsâ sections. The library on the picture looks exactly the same for last 10 years - so the photo is still relevant, although not current. (but my daughter has changed a lot, that is trueđ). I assume in this case the photo was flagged due to heavy filter.
Thank you, Wilfred. Happy to be part of communityâď¸ I will try with the form you provided- great helpđ
You are welcome, @KonDan. It would be nice, if you tell us, if you have success, since this is a common problem for most of us!
