I spent a lot of time in playgrounds when my kids were young.
Even though they are now grown ups, I still have a lot of empathy for parents with young children. Everywhere I go, if there is a playground around, I try to make it a point of taking at least some photos to share on Google Maps - even when I am travelling overseas.! Who knows, it might just be the information that other families travelling with young children need to maintain their sanity.
Therefore, I am doing a call out to increase playground contributions in Google Maps.
Over the next month or so, whenever you come across a playground, try to add some photos of it and upload them to Google maps. If you can, also do a review.
When you’ve done that, share a photo here in the comments below with a link to the playground or your review.
You might also like to comment about what led you to this playground.
Then sit back, and see whom you’ve helped in the days, months or years ahead.
I think it will be fun to see the variety of playgrounds and especially the type of equipment each city or country has.
Please tag others in your comment to draw their attention to this fun initiative and watch this space grow.

Great initiative @MariaNgo Whenever I get a chance, I go to a good park or playground with my kiddos and post a review of it on Google Maps.
Thanks
@MariaNgo lovely initiative ..we families are in dire need of going outdoors to play & spend more time physically rather than the digital world .
Sharing a glimpse of Sports complex in my area, lush green, well maintained. It has parks, courts for tennis, badminton, pickle ball, children’s play ground with swings, pool, gym, cricket ground & more.
@MariaNgo yes it’s a sports complex with playing arenas and parks..am going daily to learn & do yoga ..then walk for 30 minutes..do some meditation ..it’s quite calming
We do need some air & Sun for a better body, mind & soul
Thank you for this post, @MariaNgo
I added in Maps a lot of playgrounds, I could say that this is one of my favorite place to add.
Big or small, playgrounds are very important for families with kids, so finding them can be extremely helpful.
Also I like to highlight playgrounds designed for kids with special needs, because all the children must have the same fun. Considering the social inclusion in designing a playground for me is not an option, but something that must be carefully considered.
@MariaNgo yes I wasn’t able to get out much due to my father’s ill health but then you yourself need to be healthy to be able to take care of a patient ..so am now trying to go daily
@MariaNgo Thank you so much for your post. It’s definitely one of my favorite topics, and one that always has my review—playgrounds—and since I still have a young daughter, I’m always looking for new places.
One of the first things I do when I’m renting a place to stay on a trip is check if there’s a park with a playground nearby and what the conditions are. Unfortunately, there are places that don’t have reviews.
@GasparKaren Yes, when travelling with children that is definitely an important aspect of our travel criteria. Thanks for sharing those two playgrounds. They both look AMAZING!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such well equipped large play space in such beautiful surrounds with trees and beautiful landscaping.
Do you have lots of other playgrounds in Toronto that would be helpful for travellers to know about? Have you ever tried creating a google maps list of highly recommended playgrounds?
@Shalz sorry to hear about your father’s ill health. And I absolutely agree with you about taking care of oneself first so that we are healthy enough to take care of others. It’s no point and not helpful to try to give out of empty.
