Past week there was a severe flooding in Roermond, the river Maas reach a high never seen since the early '90’s.
We got lucky though, more to the south and in Germany and Belgium it was really a disaster.

Yes @joepdeumes
the flooding in all countries is always terrible.
Let us hope this weekend will not be such much rain again.
Stay safe!

thank, TorM, and kept dry!
I’ve seen places where the drainage systems just couldn’t handle the overflow, and it led to a lot of hidden damage over time—things like water pooling in spots it shouldn’t or foundations starting to weaken.
If the area had better drainage infrastructure, it might’ve helped reduce some of the impact. When I was sorting out a drainage problem at home after some heavy rains, I found this service at https://www.pm247.co.uk/services/drainage/ really useful for advice and solutions. Proper drainage makes a huge difference in situations like this.
