The environment has always been for me, as a Local Guide and as a person, a key topic, a pivot around which everything else revolves.
It is on this that, in these 7 years as a Local Guide, my whole story has moved.
There is much more than telling the places, in being a Local Guide.
Environment means to me “respect for the environment”, and therefore not only “enjoying its beauty”, but also being an active part in maintaining it, for a “responsible” use.
This automatically brings us to three other keywords: Biodiversity, Sustainability and Tourism.
Biodiversity is one of the cornerstones of a “sustainable” environment, and “sustainable” tourism is respectful and responsible, and also accessible, tourism.
Communicating all of this is not easy, especially if we want our message to be understood by everyone.
Therefore, for about a month now I have wanted to add a new challenge: to create a different form of communication, easier because it is made up of Easy Words and simplification of concepts.
You may have seen a new character in my recent posts, Flat Stanley (read his story here.)
So far we have talked with Stanley about Biodiversity and Sustainable Mobility (a topic we will talk about again very soon).
Thanks to @Smita_Patil (I will not be surprise to see her becoming a Sustainability Star 2023 ) for this Challenge to talk about the Environment. I’ve written a lot in the past so I want to share a collection of posts, and only tell an overall view in pictures here.
Caring
Environment for me means taking care of the environment, as Local Guides do with Local Guides Clean The World

Respecting
Sustainable tourism is tourism that respects places, slow tourism that moves responsibly. Local Guides have an important role in this, in describing the territories and implementing information on mobility. Did you know that from Venice you can reach Munich using only cycle paths?

Loving
Loving the environment means immersing yourself in it, listening to it with love and respect

Thinking Green
Promote responsible production and consumption of renewable energies

In the coming months we will talk about all this and much more.
PS: Remember that when you reply you are talking to Stanley, not me. Write in a simple way, he will be grateful to you
