Mount Fitz Roy is my favorite mountain. Because it’s a mountain of granite. Surrounded by glaciers and fantastic lakes. It is in constant trouble with the clouds. But somehow it manages to find his way and often show us its face. I love it so much. I have been here many times and it is the most beautiful route i like to walk. Be this is the most popular route in this region for hikers. Sort of like being a pilgrim for backpackers.
-To reach here, you have to come to the town of el Calafate by plane. And then you have to take a vehicle to the village of El Chaltén.
Now you can start a challenging 9 km/mile walking route.
Especially the last mile/km so so dificult.
The round trip takes 8 hours on foot. There are a lot of wild animals around. Not dangerous. Usually birds.
