A common conversation topic among my group of friends is about which is the best sushi in my city, Santiago, Dominican Republic. I decided to visit some places to be able to make my own argument about which one is the best. It should be noted that in almost all places where this product is sold in this city, some details have been added that belong to the Dominican culture and it is not like sushi originated in Japan.
One of my favorite places to enjoy this dish is Square One. It is a very comfortable place, where many people attend but what makes this restaurant more striking is that every Tuesday from 12 pm, they have a special 2x1 in some sushis. In addition, this restaurant is the one that has put more of the Dominican culture in the sushis, they even have one with the concept of one of the most famous Dominican dishes, the mangu, but this could cover another post. Each dish contains 10 pieces of sushi.
Another very striking place is Sushi Ban. Apart from offering sushis dishes known as California Roll, this site offers combos for 3 or 4 people with different shapes on the plates, for example boats or fish, which are formed by sushis.
In The Circus Food Park, there is a place known as Jodali Sushi Bar that offers this meal. In this place they are also very creative with the dishes and their decoration is striking as well as the content different from the others in the sushis.
In the Plaza Internacional , there is a place called Lizbeth Coffe Shop & Sushi, that has special every Thursday of 2x3 in sushis, this offer may be limited to some date. This would be recommended to go with another person since they are 3 dishes and contain 8 pieces of sushi each one.
It is very difficult to decide, since I like them all and I really enjoy visiting these places and pleasing my palate with their dishes. The competition was very strong between Square One and Sushi Ban, but in my opinion, definitely, the best of all is Sushi Ban. I choose this place because I consider that this food has an excellent quality, better flavor and has quite creative ideas in its dishes.
I hope you enjoy this and tell me where is the best sushi you’ve ever tasted!
