Once we planned a return route from our summer vacation spent at Washington, DC. We get there by Amtrak Autotrain, but were going to see more places on the way back home to Tampa Bay area., so our plan was to visit Maryland Capitol in Annapolis, Chesapeake tunnel, Norfolk, all the way through Blue Ridge Highway, visit few peaks at Smoky Mountains and Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN.
There was one problem, though: our daughter would not spend entire days sitting in the car, so we had to include something for her in our plan.
The best proved think was a chain of playgrounds on the way. And here was as another problem: for most of playgrounds I was able to find on Google Maps (sometimes aged) pictures from Google Street View were the best (and the only) choice. Sometimes you could not ever see playground from the street if it was deep in the park.
And getting to a completely unknown place after few hours of car ride and only see some sandbox instead promised and expected monkey bars and swing would be frustrating for a little girl (and we would feel it right away!).
So once I got to first decent playground on our way, I realized no one posted any pictures to Google maps.
It was my start as a local guide (however those pictures were not local to me, ha-ha!).
Since then I believe people enjoy my pictures (Google regularly reminds me how may thousand views they have).
