Field-Verified Local Guide from Kanpur: Reporting incorrect photos and locations on Google Maps

I am a Level 6 Local Guide from India, and I contribute only within Kanpur city, where I live.
My focus has always been on honest, field-verified contributions.

Before adding or editing any place, I physically visit the location.
Most of my work involves correcting wrong locations (especially ATMs and local businesses),
reporting permanently closed places, and flagging photos or videos that are not related to the actual place.

One challenge I regularly face is that many users upload incorrect or misleading photos and videos.
These images often belong to a different place or do not represent the business at all.
Such content creates confusion for users who rely on Google Maps for accurate information.

Whenever I report these photos, I select the appropriate reason and mention that I verified the place on the field.
While some reports are accepted, many incorrect photos still remain visible.

As someone who contributes only locally and verifies everything on the ground,
I believe field-verified reports should be given higher priority.
This would greatly improve the accuracy and trustworthiness of Google Maps,
especially for important locations like banks, ATMs, and local businesses.

I am sharing this experience to highlight a genuine issue and to support the continuous improvement of Google Maps.
Thank you for providing this platform where Local Guides can contribute responsibly.

Hi @localdiscover78

Cudos for only editing places you have visited. Way to go.

Editing ATM is pretty much impossible as they enjoy special protection like banks, hospitals and pharmacies.

The feature to flag photos is know for being very ineffective. I tested this systematically recently. See
