Favorite Attractions - Monterrey (Nuevo Leon, Mexico)

Hello! As a technology consultant, I travel all over Mexico. And as a Local Guide, I get anxious trying to visit all I can in my free time.

Fortunately, last year I was visiting Monterrey at the north of the country and I had a couple of days to know the city. Here I share my favorite places in this famous business city.

All photos self captured with Nikon D3200 - two lens (18-55 mm and 55-200 mm).

1. Macroplaza

Town square of colossal space, perfect for walking and admiring its fountains and nearby places of interest.

2. Barrio Antiguo

Interesting neighborhood, excellent to walk and admire the streets and the architecture.

3. Paseo Santa Lucía

Favorite place to walk in Mexico, admiring its canal and structures. Either, in direction from the Macroplaza to Parque Fundidora or vice versa.

4. Parque Fundidora / Museo del Acero horno3

Enormous public big park with multiple sites. Highly recommended to visit the Steel Museum, to know about the industry and the history of the production in the region.

5. Parque la Huasteca

Beautiful park to enjoy and admire nature.

6. Mirador del Obispado

Here you can see the city from the top; do not forget to visit the church.

BONUS

Restaurants:

  • La Nacional (Expensive, but the best place to eat in Monterrey)
  • Botanero Moritas (Traditional Delicious food)

Sports:

  • Estadio BBVA Bancomer

Essential for football lovers. Stadium designed by the renowned architects from “Populous”.

Family:

  • Planetario Alfa

Perfect museum for the family. Amazing rooms and exhibitions for children. As well as, a land full of animals and nature.

Thanks for the nice overview @JahirSVG , I was lucky to visit Mexico twice, one was a day trip to Cozumel island on the cruise and another was Cancun where we had an opportunity to visit Chichen Itza. You are lucky to have the chance to travel your country in such detail! :maple_leaf:

Hello @CaterinaOS ! Thank you for your comments. Yes, Mexico is big and full of amazing places. Indeed I have just returned from a two week vacation all around the Yucatan Peninsula, I’ll create some publications as soon as I have the photos ready (:
