I am really fascinated with beach spots in Tel Aviv area!
Almost every 200 meters (literally) is already another beach here :). I am pretty much confused sometimes where was I indeed, but the main ones are very well seen on the Google Maps so one can easily find them.
The coast is divided for many reasons: each beach has its guards, accessibility, beach equipment, bar, sports activity, etc.
Almost every beach is provided with wheelchair access in accordance with the Israeli law and there are lots of cafes and restaurants too.
Herzliya Sea Coast beach is a beautiful spot in the north of Tel Aviv, where you can walk along the coast for hours, passing the surfers, paddle boarders, beach ping pong players and happy families around.
It has a wheelchair accessibility by 2 elevators and the trails not along the beach, but strait to the sea line.
There are several cafes around so you can have a bite any time till late night, and the guards working till around 7.00 p.m.
After 7.00 pm there is a warning voice message not to swim in the water because of the absence of the guard. And there is the reason for that due to the water currents that are commun in Israel.
So, please, stay always on the safe side, don’t swim too far from the shore & check the guards first before going to water.
Hilton Beach is situated righ in the city of Tel Aviv. It is a great beach in many aspects, but specially for parents with kids and for elderly people due to its shallow waters & easy accessibility paths.
To the right from Hilton beach one can find also Dog’s beach for the pet lovers, to the left Tel Aviv Marina & only water sports area, in front from both sides - the walking pier in the sea.
There are lots of people coming here in the evening time to admire the sunset from the upper sides of the hill. And the view is fantastic: with paddle boarders, boats and the light house in mild rays of the sunset.
There is also a beautiful Hilton bay bar, but I would rather say it is a full time cafe, cause they have hot meals menu & freshly squeezed juices till 10-10.30 p.m., together with not heavy relaxing music ?!
Hiiiiighly recommended!!!
Rishon Le Tsiyon is a beautiful beach in the south of Tel Aviv area, the continuation of the Tayo beach. Tayo takes its name from the great fish restaurant there, while Rishon le Tsiyon has more bar-free space for sports like surfing & kitesurfing. One can meet many people with pets too.
The accessibility is greatly provided here along the walking trail. Full of people as any other beach in Tel Aviv & around in summer, but less in the evening time. Highly recommended for the sunsets!
Practical Tips:
- In summer time as anywhere near the sea, it is better not to stay at the heat from 10-11 a.m. till 3-4 p.m.
- Don’t forget to take your hats and lots of water with you. Even though most of beaches are provided with water supply, it is better to have your own just in case.
- All of them are great surfing spots for the beginners.
- All of these spots are recommended for the sunsets, since it is the west coast!
Best time to visit:
For the sea and beach lovers from May till late June, & from September till late October (July - August it is too here even for the locals ;))
For surfers all year long (in winter time with the suits)
For kite- and windsurfers there are winds mainly in winter time, but all year long one can experience windy days once per week for sure.
The lists on Google Maps:
- I made a list of the beach spots around Tel Aviv in case you have a chance to admire them one beautiful day!
- And you can always find a nice place to dine with the view in this area from my list as well.
Enjoy your wonderful time near the sea in this area!
P.S. My dear #TeamIsrael, @theStarman , @smadar , @michal21 , @Avsha , @Natureexplorer and @Napplbaum , I am sure you have some pictures from this beautiful shore! If so, you are very welcome to share!
