Hello Local Guides,
I recently came across the update that the “Following” feature will no longer be available on Google Maps starting September 2025.
This means I will be losing my 373 followers who have been supporting my journey as a Local Guide. While this feels a little sad, I’m truly grateful for the encouragement, motivation, and positivity I’ve received from all of you till now

This is also visible to me as same like this @saidevadiga , I know that it is totally disgusting thing for all of us but we can’t do anything in this as this is a newly updated policy of Google Maps. If they are removing this, then they might bring some new features in order to enhance our Google Maps more positively
Yes, I also feel sad about losing followers on Maps, but I’m glad we can still stay connected here on Connect @fachrie230
True, I feel the same Though it’s disappointing to lose the followers feature, hopefully Google Maps will introduce some new updates that make our contributions even more meaningful
