Today I am facing an issue while trying to add a place in Google Maps. The following error message pops up: “The page you requested is invalid”. Is there any way to rectify the issue?
Thanks, @Kausik_Bhunia
Which platform are you using?
Are you able to consistently replicate the error?
What do you do to reach the error message (step by step)?
Cheers
Morten
I am using Android Google Maps app.
The steps I am following are:
Adding pointer to a missing place=> add missing place=> the error pops up.
This error has popped umpteenth time today only.
Thanks, @Kausik_Bhunia
Please share the GPS coordinates and I will check if the problem is universal.
Also, please check if the error is also on the desktop, if you have access to a computer,
Also, please check if 1) Tap Contribute, 2) Tap “Add place”. Does this also cause the error?
Cheers
Morten
The GPS coordinates of the place I am trying to add is “22.5712872, 88.2684929”
Facing the same error in these steps also. Contribute=> Add place
No error in desktop.
I’m able to access the Add new place here without any problems.
So it is not likely to be a regional restriction. So it could be linked to your account. But more likely is your device.
Please, try Clear cache & cookies, if you have not already done so. The link has step-by-step instructions for Android, IOS, and Desktop. Just select the relevant tab at the top.
Also, please log out of your Local Guides account and log back in, and update your Google Maps app if necessary.
Best of luck
Morten
Hello @MortenCopenhagen
After having tried everything possible like clearing cache and cookies to uninstalling and reinstalling Google Maps, I could not resolve the issue. However, today I found that the issue is gone and I can add a place just like before.
Thanks,
Kausik
For my academic interest, can you suggest:
Which step or doubtful steps which SOLVED your problem?
I also keep getting many such doubts from LG Communities…
Thanks, fellow LG @Kausik_Bhunia
All the best
@TravellerG I tried all the steps as suggested by Morten and further tried uninstalling and re-installing the app, but nothing happened. The error was gone after few days.
Ohh… I see…
Since the problem was local to your mobile phone, there would have been some compatability issue with Google Maps & your Mobile which was solved later…
Thanks for your kind reply, dear LG friend @Kausik_Bhunia
