As a Cambodian local guide and storyteller, I always feel deeply connected to our ancient heritage, and one of the most awe-inspiring places I’ve explored is ប្រាសាទព្រះខ័ន (Preah Khan Temple) in Siem Reap.
Nestled within the Angkor complex, Preah Khan was built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII as a place of worship, learning, and healing. It’s more than just a temple—it’s a living story carved into stone, surrounded by giant trees, moss-covered walls, and peaceful forest trails.
What I love most is how nature and heritage blend. As you walk through its shaded pathways, you feel both the grandeur of the past and the quiet soul of the forest.
As a digital content creator who works remotely and travels often, I find joy in sharing Cambodia’s cultural gems with the world. I hope my journey inspires more explorers—both local and global—to appreciate and protect our heritage.
@SophatCHY What an incredible place. And I love seeing that even with time changing some things, they still remain in their natural state. It’s sad when some people decide to go on vacation, and because they only think about selfies, they end up destroying these spaces.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I agree these places hold such deep historical and spiritual value, and it’s heartbreaking to see them disrespected. As a local, I always try to share stories that remind us to travel with care, not just for the perfect photo, but for the memory and meaning.
Preah Khan has a quiet magic that really makes you reflect, and I hope that by sharing it, we can encourage more responsible travel and cultural respect.

What a beautifully written post, @SophatCHY
Your deep connection to Cambodian heritage truly shines through each word and image. The way you describe Preah Khan as a living story carved into stone is both poetic and powerful. The harmony between nature and ancient architecture is breathtaking in your photos—especially the ones where trees embrace the temple walls.
Thank you so much @NandKK brother
Preah Khan is one of those places where history breathes through every stone and tree root. I’m deeply moved by how nature and heritage coexist so powerfully there—it’s a story that speaks not just to Cambodia, but to anyone who cherishes cultural depth and timeless beauty.

Thanks for sharing with us @SophatCHY & I have seen the stage performance of Cambodian Ramayan in some magazines and have also read about Cambodian Ramayan (Ramkirti). I liked it very much.
Thank you so much, @ShailendraOjha! I’m happy to hear you’ve seen and enjoyed the Cambodian Ramayan (Ramkirti).
