Namaste Local Guides! ![]()
Today I’m sharing some moments from Patan Durbar Square, also known as Lalitpur—the City of Beauty. Whether you are a history buff or just looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy a “Lassi” near the square, this place never fails to impress.
My Highlights for Visitors:
- Krishna Mandir: The stone carvings here are legendary. It’s a masterpiece of Shikhara style architecture.
- The Patan Museum: One of the best museums in South Asia. The courtyards (Chowks) inside are incredibly photogenic.
- Vibe Check: It’s almost Nepali New Year, and the energy in the square is building up! If you visit in mid-April, you might see the preparations for the Rato Machindranath chariot.
If you are a photographer, I highly recommend visiting during the “Golden Hour” (late afternoon) when the sunlight hits the red bricks and gilded windows.
