I had the chance to visit Queenstown for a quick weekend. It’s definitely too short for a weekend as Queenstown is known to be an adventure city in New Zealand.
Even if you have only a few days to spend there, there’s stil a lot of activites to do with a stunning scenery. If you can, rent a car as it’ll be easier for you to explore the surroundings of Queenstown.
Head to Wanaka, it’s like a supermarket for day hikes/walks. I’d suggest Roy’s Peak and Rob Roy Glacier. Roys Peak might be a bit crowded since the whole area is becoming more and more touristy as years go. You can also use Queenstown Water Taxi’s on Lake Wakatipu to get around, as the area is beautiful.
Did a gondola lift ride, bungee jumping, hiking, two Lord of the Rings movie location tours, and ate some delicious food including lamb. What brought you to New Zealand?
@JordanSB @'m so jealous! I have to go back, there are so many things I want to do including the two Lord of the Rings tours I’ve only spent a weekend to meet up with some friends who were in the region. It was when I was based in Melbourne so it was a short flight
Queenstown seems really cool indeed! How can one travel there easily? Did you took a trip from Australia? I’ve never been to either places, but surely I would love to visit one day. I’ve heard New Zealand has a great nature, a combination of mountains and sea. What was your favorite thing of Queenstown being there for the weekend?
