Exploring Historic Angullia Mosque in Singapore

Hello Fellow Local Guides
When we think of Singapore, the first places that come to mind are Marina Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, or Merlion Park. But beyond these famous attractions, I also discovered a beautiful piece of history, The Historic Angullia Mosque.

Built in 1890 on Serangoon Road, this historic mosque was established by Indian Muslim merchants and features beautiful Indo-Islamic architecture. Today, it is not only a place of worship but also an important center for Islamic learning and community activities, with space for around 2,500 worshippers.

Alhamdulillah, during my visit to Singapore, I was able to explore this beautiful mosque alongside the city’s well-known tourist attractions.

As a solo traveler, I always enjoy going beyond the popular landmarks. I love discovering the history, culture, and stories that make each destination unique. Visiting Angullia Mosque was one of the most meaningful experiences of my trip, and I’m truly grateful I had the chance to be there.

Amazing, @NasimJ! I first attended Friday prayers at the Angulia Mosque in 2006 during my time in Singapore. I still remember those days fondly!
