Exploring Feni: A Fascinating Blend of Past and Present

Hi my fellow local guides,

After a long time, I’m back with my new travel story. The interesting thing is I made for the plan on Google Maps based. At first I want to share how I use Google Maps in my travel. Basically, I decided where to go and also try to collect the historical places and tourist attractions of the place. Then I open Google Maps and start searching the place and save in private lists. After that I can easily plan where to go first, where to go next. And I also read the reviews.

A few days ago I visited the Feni District of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has 64 districts and my target is visit all of them. Currently, I visited 19 districts. Today I’m going to share you about my last journey to Feni. I published the private list that I made before going to Feni on Google Maps List. You can view and save the list from here.

Chowdhury Bari Mosque, Bijoy Singh Dighi & Feni Circuit House:

These three places are located nearby. I first went to The Chowdhury Bari Mosque. The Mosque is not a historical place but popular. Unfortunately, I didn’t find why this mosque is popular. But the graveyard is beautiful. I think the flower garden attracted me.

After visiting the Chowdhury Bari Mosque, I go to the Bijoy Singh Dighi. While entering there, first there will be rows of trees on both sides. There are also some food stalls as well. On the left side of it is situated the dighi across the entire area. The dighi is beautiful. Specially, the walkway. This place is popular for students hangout.

The Circuit House of Feni is situated in front of Bijoy Singh Dighi. This place is also beautiful. Looking at the front gate, it seems that the red carpet of Krishnachura(Caesalpinia Pulcherrima) flowers is welcoming the guests. Feni Circuit House is also beautiful.

Mubarak Shah Mosque, Sharshadi Dighi & Jamidar Mohammad Ali Chowdhury Mosque:

Mubarak Shah Mosque was built in 450 years ago. In 1995 this mosque is included in the list of Bangladesh Archaeological Artifacts. There is a big beautiful field in front of this mosque. And there is a madrasha next to it. Also, there is a shrine. This mosque is also known as Sharshadi Mosque.

After visiting the Sharshadi Mosque, I go to the Sharshadi Dighi. Which is one of the biggest dighi in Bangladesh. This dighi is also known as Sharshadi Porir Dighi. Some people also called Char(Four) Dighi. If you see in Google Maps, you’ll notice the reason. Unfortunately, when I visited one side of dighi is dry. I think in the rainy season this dighi will be look much beautiful.

While returning from Sharshadi Dighi, I noticed Jamidar Mohammad Ali Chowdhury Mosque very close to me on Google map. This mosque was on my list, but I left it out as it would be too late. Fortunately, seeing this mosque very close to me on the map, I visited there as well. The mosque is very beautiful. This mosque is also about 350 years old. There is also a madrasha next to this mosque.

Rajajhir Dighi, Feni Government College, Feni Shahid Minar & Martyred Intellectuals Memorial:

Rajajhir Dighi is situated at Feni zero points. I think in Feni city this place is more beautiful than others. The walkway is also beautiful. This place is clean and well decorated. There’s also have some benches where you can sit and spent a quality time. Peoples also take showers in this dighi. No entry fee is required to enter here.

Feni Government College is also a beautiful place. A beautiful playground is here. This place is famous for its architecture. This college was established in 1992 with money from the people of Feni. Then some other individuals and institutions funded them.

Feni Shahid Minar and Intellectual Memorial are situated next to Rajajhir Dighi. Shahid Minar was built in memory of those who gave their lives for language on February 21, 1952 and the memorial was built in memory of the intellectuals of Bangladesh who died on December 14, 1971.

I also made a video from some of my random clips. If you want, you can also watch the video.

Dear @Saiyen

Wow, thank you for sharing your incredible travel experience in Feni District!

Your detailed descriptions and the use of Google Maps to plan your journey are truly inspiring. It’s fascinating to hear about the Chowdhury Bari Mosque and its beautiful graveyard. Bijoy Singh Dighi sounds like a charming place, especially with the picturesque walkway and student hangout spots. And the Circuit House with its welcoming Krishnachura flowers must have been a delightful sight. The historical Mubarak Shah Mosque and its surroundings, including the madrasha and shrine, sound captivating. Even though Sharshadi Dighi had a dry side during your visit, I can imagine its grandeur in the rainy season. You made a wise decision to visit Jamidar Mohammad Ali Chowdhury Mosque, and it’s amazing to know it’s around 350 years old. Rajajhir Dighi seems like a must-visit, offering a serene atmosphere and beautiful walkway. Feni Shahid Minar and Intellectual Memorial hold significant historical value.

Thank you for taking us on this virtual journey and providing such vivid descriptions. Your travel adventures are truly inspiring! Keep exploring and sharing your experiences with us.

If I want to visit the places you have mentioned here, how much will it cost and how many days will it take?

Best regards.
