Bangalore Fort, originally constructed as a mud fort in 1537 by Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bangalore,In 1761, Hyder Ali replaced the mud fort with a stone structure, which was further enhanced by his son, Tipu Sultan, in the late 18th century.
In 1791, the British army, led by Lord Cornwallis, captured the fort during the Third Anglo-Mysore War.
