Each year almost without fail, since the last 25 years (except 2020), Sarawak has been hosting the Rainforest World Music Festival (#RWMF). This year we were able to attend physically as part of our Sarawak exploration trip (check out my previous many posts). This is a very special annual event where ethnic, traditional, cultural music and musical instruments from all over the world are greatly featured in a 3 days event, hosted at the Sarawak Cultural Village (https://goo.gl/maps/tq1bScCBQkgvFiLg9 ), in Kuching district Sarawak.

[Photo below] - We got an opportunity to walk along and chatted a bit with maestro Mathew Ngau, who is the leading master in the traditional Sarawak stringed musical instrument called the Sape.
[Photo below] - Throughout the Rainforest World Music Festival, there were many programs around cultures, arts and music. Here attendees can learn the basics of playing the Sape.

The annual Rainforest World Music Festival is one of the best time to visit Sarawak, and also the Sarawak Cultural Village. Book tickets and travel plans in advance since this is also a peak travel time and prices tend to go up.
