Experiencing new search results visibility in Google Maps app

Hi all,

I’m experiencing a new change on the app and I think it will roll out to all in the next days/weeks.

Previously when we used to search for a place or kind of a place that had several results in different areas, it showed results in a specific area and when we moved to another area the results were stable until we pressed the “Search this area” button.

But now as I’m experiencing, the search results map is dynamic, and when we move to another area the visible pins smoothly change based on the screen. However the results list is still for the previous area until we press the “Search this area” button.

I love this change and its smooth result change. It brings the experience of a softer browsing the map. What is your idea about this change? Do you have the same experience?

I just checked, and it works for me too.

Another interesting thing is that if there are more POIs (I just checked with “restaurants”) than the ones displayed, the additional ones are shown as a red dot, with no pin and name, but if you zoom in there you will see them too

Yes @ErmesT Thanks for mentioning. This is also interesting. I think I saw such red dots before on iOS but not them with soft browsing the search results.
