@CarmineDpC Yes, this painting talks. What kind o murals are there? Are these murals dedicated to a theme? Tell us more about these paintings.

Hi AnuradhaP, migrants is main theme of this work. Diamante is called “The country of noses upwards”; its buildings are covered by over 300 murals. A real open-air gallery that forces people to stop to observe the works that stand on the walls. Diamante, a small Calabrian town overlooking the sea, considered one of the most beautiful towns in Italy for the works that color the streets. A tradition inaugurated in 1981, thanks to the idea of the painter Nani Razzetti and that has been renewed for two years thanks to the commitment of a young local artist Antonino Perrotta, creator of the OSA (Operation Street Art) festival. From 10 to 15 September ancient village host some of the most famous and interesting artists, called to leave their mark on facades and buildings. “Each artist will have the opportunity to create a work dealing with his own language”, said Perrotta, “a contemporary theme, against any prejudice and stereotype that destabilizes our society”. An anticipation of the festival has already been entrusted to the Neapolitan Ozon who has chosen to concentrate on the theme of migrants. Next to his mural, there will be the works of the Romans Diamond and Solo of the Spanish Sfhir, Man O 'Matic, TMX, Toni Espinar, Ele Man. And of the other Italians Riccardo Buonafede, Stefania Marchetti and Alessandro RIzzotti.

Ciao @CarmineDpC

Thank you for this beautiful post. I will put this place in the list for my next trip in South Italy. Are you from there? When the peperoncino festival is usually taking place?

Thank you in advance for all the precious information that you will provide us.

Hi Sorbe, nice to meet you ?

I’m from Avellino, about 3 hours from Diamante, but since 20 years I’ve been going to this Calabrian small town every summer because I love it both for the sea (amazing) and for the Peperoncino festival. Peperoncino festival is a festival of the city that is made every year, the second week of September and for 5 days is a festival of colors, flavors and people. More information here: http://www.peperoncinofestival.org/ (sorry… is only in Italian language).

If one day you decide to go there please write me that I will give you the best possible information on where to sleep, eat and have fun. Give you some pics I take last September.
